The Challenge this past week for any takers in the Cooler (a FB group of food lovers, bakers, and cooks) was chocolate, anything goes.
There were beautiful submissions. We are in the company of a crew of talented bakers.
Without further ado, here they are.
Amy Klein made homemade Almond Joy bars. I can remember them as a kid, going to the movies, some Almond Joys, bad popcorn and bad soda pop. Those look a hell of a lot better than the ones I had!
Judy Kennedy Dawson with an incredible presentation. Here’s her description!
I was looking for something special and chocolate-y to fix for Valentines dessert and found this Chipotle Flourless Chocolate Cake recipe on the Simply Recipes blog (www.simplyrecipes.com). It was so easy and tasted divine! The hardest thing about it was waiting for it to cool!
David Cavanagh. Above and below. Above, well I’ll let DM describe them.
Real simple, a double stuffed Oreo, topped with a peanut butter cup and covered with brownie mix, cooked in a cupcake tray. Bake 20 minutes at 350. I use Ghirardelli brownie mix according to package directions and it will make a dozen. Those things were damned good, as a matter of fact, one of the girls called me yesterday for the recipe.
And below, DM’s Chocolate dipped strawberries. You’re killing me Dave!
Susan Birnie Snyder, her take on Hostess cupcakes. Wicked!
Donna Currie, above it’s Wacky Cake, below truffles. Check out Donna’s blog, every day there’s something awesome. http://www.cookistry.com/
Kate Matney Perini, Cream Cheese Brownies. I love the back drop!
Sheryl Wolter, Pecan Turtles. I love turtles, those are superb!
Kel Hinkle, above Nutella flourless cake, below, brownies with Rolos! LOve me some Rols, love me some brownies with Rolos more!
Chris Hughes, Chocolate empanadas. I think I could clean that plate!
Sherri Medley, Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake! Man oh man, that is decadent.
LIsa Grotte, dark chocolate cupcakes with chocolate ganache frosting. Simply put, those are some of the best looking cupcakes I’ve ever laid my eyes on.
Kim Pope, Death by Chocolate cake (made by her hubby!) Kudos to the hubby!
Woo Brower, Chocolate Pecan Lace cookies. Give me a nice cup of coffee, and I bet I could eat a dozen of those!
That’s it for this week, stay tuned for the next Cooler Challenge!
